Job summary

Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist to independently evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with goals.

The role focuses on therapy for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing, with emphasis on safety, independence, and collaboration with the care team; CT license or SPE plan and CCC required; new graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current State of Connecticut license or eligible for a SPE plan.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough evaluation of patient’s speech, language, cognition and swallowing as referred by physicians.
• Establish measurable goals and implement treatment plans with patient and family involvement.
• Deliver and tailor therapy interventions to maximize safety and independence.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, precautions, and equipment.
• Coordinate care with Rehab Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers and other team members.
