Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Chestnut Hill, MA is seeking a Per Diem Sonographer for outpatient imaging. The role involves performing a wide range of ultrasound exams including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and some vascular tests, while interacting daily with patients and staff.

The ideal candidate has vocational training in diagnostic medical sonography, an ARDMS credential, and BLS certification. This position offers per diem hours and rotating shifts, with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
• Associate's degree in Ultrasound preferred.
• ARDMS certification in Abdominal and/or OB/GYN specialties.
• Registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and BLS certification required.
• Experience with PACS and medical imaging systems recommended.

Responsibilities

• Reviews charts, selects equipment and transducers for tests.
• Interviews patients, explains procedures and positions patients.
• Records images on PACS and provides images on film/paper when needed.
• Provides preliminary interpretation and communicates with radiologist as needed.
• Perform high level disinfection of ultrasound transducers and maintain clean work area.
