Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to perform abdominal, obstetrical and gynecological exams with potential vascular work. You will interact with patients, explain procedures and assist physicians during invasive procedures, while maintaining image quality and documentation.

The role requires RDMS registration in abdominal/OB-GYN, BLS certification, and 0–1 years' related experience.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is required.
• Associate's degree in Ultrasound is preferred.
• Ultrasound RDMS registration in Abdominal and/or OB/GYN is required; BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, obtains necessary information, explains procedures and positions patient.
• Assists physicians during sterile invasive procedures (e.g., amniocenteses, cyst punctures, thoracenteses, biopsies).
• Views images, determines diagnostic quality, records images on PACS and provides film/paper copies when needed.
• Performs routine clerical duties, schedules patients and orders supplies; maintains clean work area.
• Shares on-call duties with other sonographers after required expertise.
• May assist in training residents, staff and student sonographers.
• Performs high-level disinfection of ultrasound transducers and maintains infection control standards.
