Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional to perform ultrasound procedures across abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and some vascular exams. You will interact daily with patients and other medical personnel, explain procedures, and ensure proper positioning and imaging.

The role emphasizes quality image acquisition, equipment selection, and adherence to infection control through high-level disinfection.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
• Registration in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• BLS certification due within 30 days of hire.
• ARDMS certification in Abdominal and/or OB/GYN specialties.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Reviews charts, selects equipment and transducers for tests as ordered.
• Interviews patients, explains procedures and positions patient.
• Records images on PACS and provides images on film/paper when needed.
• Performs high level disinfection of transducers and maintains infection control.
