Job summary

Regent Surgical Health in Palos Heights, IL is seeking an experienced PreOp/PACU RN for per diem coverage. You will provide comprehensive perioperative care, prep patients, monitor vitals, and ensure safety from pre-op through discharge, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia team.

This role requires RN license in Illinois, BLS/ACLS/PALS, ASC experience, and pediatric experience; per diem schedule with weekdays, no on-call, no weekends.

Qualifications

• RN license in the appropriate state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• ASC experience.
• Minimum one year of Pediatric experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare patients for surgery, monitor vital signs, and ensure safe perioperative care.
• Explain surgical procedures to patients and families clearly.
• Verify informed consent and follow safety protocols to prevent complications.
• Perform venipuncture and blood draws as needed.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team.
• Monitor patients after anesthesia and manage pain as needed.
• Assess discharge readiness and provide discharge instructions.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are ready for use.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation.
• Operate designated equipment and perform other duties as assigned.
