Job summary

Physicians Endoscopy Center in Hoover, AL is seeking a per diem PreOp/PACU RN to support the perioperative team. You will assess patients preoperatively, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia staff to ensure safe care.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for discharge, documenting care accurately, and staying prepared with supplies and equipment. BLS/ACLS/PALS are required; pediatric experience and ASC exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in appropriate state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• ASC experience.
• Minimum one year of pediatric experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients preoperatively and prepare for surgery.
• Monitor vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV fluids as needed.
• Communicate with surgeons, anesthesia team, and families.
• Ensure proper documentation and patient discharge instructions.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and safety protocols.
