Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. Per diem scheduling lets you choose when you work and how much you pick up, with day and night shifts available.

Expect to deliver safe nursing care in acute hospital settings, assess and document patient conditions, administer medications, monitor cardiac rhythms, and collaborate with care teams.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years required.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other equipment for PCU patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital infection-control standards and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.

Salary Range: $56.25-$58.00/hour

Per Diem | Hampton Roads, VA | Days & Nights Available

Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
