Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking an experienced PCU RN for per diem hospital opportunities across the Hampton Roads area in Virginia. You can choose shifts to fit your schedule, with day and night options and the flexibility of per diem work.

Competitive per diem pay, daily and weekly pay options, and easy mobile scheduling are offered, with locally managed support. Active Virginia RN license and PCU experience are required to qualify.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.

Education

Active Virginia RN License

PCU nursing experience (2 years) within past 4 years

BLS - American Heart Association

ACLS - American Heart Association

QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months

COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption

Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
