Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area in Virginia.

You can choose when you work, picking up shifts that fit your schedule with day or night options and the possibility of building a fuller schedule or just an occasional shift.

Competitive per diem pay ranges from $56.25 to $58.00 per hour, with daily or weekly pay options and local support from the staffing team.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.
