Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking a PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital shifts in Hampton Roads, VA. You will choose Day or Night shifts and enjoy flexible scheduling with per diem pay.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, 2+ years PCU experience in the last 4 years, and current BLS/ACLS credentials; vaccination or approved exemption may be needed.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
