Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area, VA. You will select day or night shifts and enjoy per diem scheduling with options for daily or weekly pay.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, at least 2 years PCU experience, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within 12 months and COVID-19 vaccination or exemption are also required.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
