Job summary

First Choice Nurses in Hampton Roads, VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital assignments. You can pick up day or night shifts and build a schedule that fits your needs.

This position requires an active Virginia RN license, at least two years of recent PCU experience, BLS and ACLS, plus a current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within 12 months and COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption. Per diem pay is competitive and includes daily and weekly options.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemptionAdditional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
