Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU RN for per diem opportunities across the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up day or night shifts, with flexible scheduling and daily or weekly pay options.

Active Virginia RN license, 2+ years PCU experience, and AHA BLS/ACLS are required. You will work in leading acute care hospitals and have control over when you work, with supportive scheduling teams.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS & ACLS certifications.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe nursing care in an acute hospital setting.
• Monitor and document patient conditions and treatment responses.
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and PCU equipment.
• Document in electronic medical records accurately and timely.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
