Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities across the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up shifts or build a fuller schedule, with day and night options and flexible per diem pay.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, 2+ years PCU experience in the past 4 years, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within 12 months and COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and specialized equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
