Job summary

Per Diem A Off-Shift staff must be available to work at least 24 hours every four weeks; some hours may fall on weekends. RI RN licensure and at least one year inpatient experience are required, with a BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
• Minimum one year of inpatient nursing experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide care to patients across the life span with aging considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care activities.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains clinical competencies and meets credentialing standards.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates.
