Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care at Rhode Island Hospital. You will apply the nursing process, administer medications, and document in the EHR while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

New graduates may participate in a nurse residency program; licensure must be current in good standing. BLS is required, with additional certifications as area dictates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program approved by the nursing regulatory body in the jurisdiction of graduation.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Enrollment in Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GPEN) for Brown Health Medical Group will be considered.
• Diploma in Nursing considered for current employees with 1 year of service.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license, in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Administers medications and treatments per policies and orders.
• Documents care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to clinical changes.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to the setting.
• Handles on-call rotations as required.
• Precepts new colleagues and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
