Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct patient care on our inpatient units. The role includes supervising nursing activities, evaluating care quality and supporting discharge planning for a diverse patient population at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

The ideal candidate holds or is pursuing a BSN (preferred) with Rhode Island RN licensure and at least one year of inpatient nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current Rhode Island RN licensure required.
• Minimum one year of inpatient nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care.
• Lead and supervise nursing activities by delegating to ancillary personnel.
• Evaluate patient care effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with healthcare team, patient, family and community services for discharge planning.
• Provide teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research.
