Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center is seeking an RN House Supervisor to oversee hospital operations, staffing, patient flow, and crisis response. This per diem role serves as the on-site administrative representative when management is off-site, ensuring safe and efficient care across the hospital.

The position requires RN licensure, BLS and ACLS on hire, with preference for supervisory experience and BSN. Night shifts are available, with per diem employment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• May directly intervene in emergency situations, including patient codes, Rapid Response activations, or behavioral escalations.
• Monitors patient flow: supervise bed availability and coordinates admissions, discharges, and inter-unit transfers.
• Work closely with the emergency department (ED), intensive care units (ICU), med-surg floors, and ancillary departments to avoid bottlenecks.
• Manage staffing by evaluating unit needs based on census, patient acuity, and absences; reallocates existing staff and coordinates float pool, per diem, or agency support.
• Prepare comprehensive shift reports and documents critical incidents—including patient complaints, staff conflicts, injuries, and safety concerns.
