Job summary

The Westerly Hospital, part of Yale NewHaven Health, seeks a Registered Nurse with geriatric psychiatry experience to provide patient-centered nursing care under the nurse manager. You will apply primary nursing principles, document assessments, and collaborate with the care team in Rhode Island.

Ideal candidates will hold Rhode Island RN licensure, complete CPI training within 12 months, and demonstrate professional communication and teamwork in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school.
• Must hold Rhode Island RN license.
• Previous geriatric psychiatric experience required; hospital experience preferred.
• CPI training within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical and psychological condition; document data and share with the appropriate discipline.
• Adhere to Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
• Act as a clinical resource and role model for staff.
• Participate in training and educational activities for staff.
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, compassion and professionalism for all customers.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Must have and maintain license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Rhode Island.

EXPERIENCE

Previous Geriatric Psych exp required; Previous hospital exp pref

LICENSURE

CPI training within 1 yr of employment. Must have an maintain license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Rhode Island.
