Job summary

Westerly Hospital in Rhode Island seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide geriatric psychiatric care on a hospital unit. The nurse will assess ongoing conditions, adhere to hospital policies, and serve as a clinical resource for staff while promoting compassionate, patient-family-centered care.

Ideal candidates have geriatric psychiatric experience and hospital experience, with RI RN licensure and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Geriatric psychiatry experience preferred; hospital experience valued.
• Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
• Adheres to The Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
• Acts as a clinical resource and role model.
• Participates in training and educational activities for other staff.
• Demonstrates a high level of respect, dignity, compassion, and professionalism for all patients.
• Recognizes and values teamwork and collaboration among staff.
• Reports to work on time and follows hospital policies for attendance.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

Experience

Previous Geriatric Psychiatric experience required; Previous hospital exp preferred.

LICENSURE

Current RI License as a Registered Nurse BLS required CPI training within 1 yr of employment

Special Skills

Previous geriatric psychiatric experience required.
