Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Ambulatory Surgical Center in Jersey City is seeking a per diem RN (PD RN) for day shifts at the Jersey City Medical Center ASC. You will join a collaborative team delivering perioperative nursing care, assessments, medications, and patient education in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires NJ RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, a BSN or enrollment in BSN, and 2–3 years in PACU/ICU/Cath Lab/ER with EPIC EMR experience.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or actively enrolled in BSN program with expected completion date.
• Two-Three years of PACU/ICU/Cath Lab/ER RN experience preferred.
• Comfortable with EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with perioperative team to maintain nursing standards and participate in clinical decision-making.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Administer medications and provide safe, evidence-based hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and advanced providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families for informed next steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and smooth transitions of care.
• Pursue continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
