Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide on-site patient care and home visits for oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment. You will educate patients and caregivers, assess needs, and coordinate with physicians and case managers to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.

Key highlights

Work Arrangement: On-site; 50% office / 50% road. Fully flexible Per Diem schedule. Community-focused, independent branch environment. Salary range $27 – $34 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

On‑Call transparency. Per Diem role — supports same‑day patient needs as required. No formal rotation structure.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.
• Performs other duties as required.

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NE RT license.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations.
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
