Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join a flexible, community‑focused on‑site team. You will conduct home visits for oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups, educate patients and caregivers, and document care with iPad/laptop.

Ideal candidates hold an active NE RT license, CPR certification, a graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NE RT license.
• IA License preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various respiratory care equipment (oxygen, nebulization, PAP, ventilation).
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests (pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry).

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 50% office / 50% road. Hours: Flexible—open to either a full‑time schedule (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) or part‑time availability (2–3 days per week). Community‑focused, independent branch environment. Salary range $27 – $34 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NE RT license.
• IA License preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
• Education
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
