Job summary

Brio Living Services is seeking a Per Diem Resident Care Assistant in Grand Rapids, MI, within the Memory Support department. The role involves compassionate personal care, assisting with ADLs, and supporting residents in memory care and assisted living settings.

You will help with bathing, dressing, meals, and mobility, while monitoring vital signs and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment. Per diem schedule offers flexibility and meaningful daily caregiving responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous caregiver experience preferred.
• Experience with ADLs preferred.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Previous working knowledge of EMAR system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care – personal care (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support mealtime – assist residents with meals and hydration.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Perform vital checks and record vital signs, weight, intake/output.
• Keep rooms tidy, comfortable, and stocked with essentials.
• Respond promptly to call lights with kindness and professionalism.
• Monitor residents and report changes to leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality and deliver high-quality care.

What You'll Do: As a Resident Care Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by providing compassionate personal care, supporting daily activities, and offering essential assistance in our assisted living and memory care areas. Your dedication will help create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued, supported, and at home.

• Provide Hands-On Care – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.


• Support Mealtime– Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.


• Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.


• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.


• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials.


• Provide Responsive Support – Answer call lights quickly and respond with kindness and compassion.


• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.


• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
