Qualifications

• Master's degree in reading, literacy education, special education, or related field.
• Massachusetts Reading Specialist License or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience with middle and/or high school students.
• Knowledge of evidence-based literacy interventions and assessment tools.
• Knowledge of IDEA, 504, and Massachusetts Special Education Regulations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Preferred: Structured Literacy training (e.g., Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, Fundations, UFLI).
• Per diem/part-time availability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct reading instruction and intervention aligned with students' IEPs.
• Conduct literacy assessments and analyze data to identify areas of need.
• Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum for diverse learners.
• Develop individualized and small-group intervention plans.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with DESE/IDEA requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and intervention outcomes.
