Job summary

Boston Speech and Language Therapy in Boston is seeking a Reading Specialist to join our team for a full-time, in-person position. You will provide individualized support to students facing challenges with reading and literacy, helping foster strong reading skills and a love for learning.

The total caseload is 27 students. Working hours are 7:15 AM–2:15 PM, and the position is available to start ASAP. This woman-owned clinic values supportive, collaborative teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education of the Deaf or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf License required.
• Experience with deaf or hard of hearing students.
• Proficient in ASL and auditory-verbal approaches.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Commitment to inclusive classroom environments.
• Ability to adapt materials for individual needs.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer assessments to evaluate reading levels.
• Develop tailored instructional plans for individual needs.
• Provide one-on-one or small group reading instruction.
• Use evidence-based strategies and materials.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists.
• Keep detailed progress and assessment records.
