Job Description

The Radiology Technologist operates X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts, performs quality control checks, and maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibilities

1. Translate examination procedures into layman's terms to ease patient anxiety.
2. Perform various X-ray exams according to established standards and procedures.
3. Position patients correctly for radiographs following departmental protocols.
4. Recognize and report patient motor abnormalities or adverse reactions promptly to the Radiologist.
5. Operate equipment to transfer computed images to film and archive digital data.
6. Use film markers and ensure images are properly labeled as 'right' or 'left'.
7. Ensure images are labeled with the correct date and patient identification.
8. Enter patient history and relevant data from requisitions into the system.
9. Assist in immobilization and supportive device placement as needed.
10. Perform related duties as required, adhering to the Americans with Disabilities Act. Non-listed but related duties are considered non-essential.

Job Qualifications

1. Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
2. Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State required.
3. Current ARRT Radiology registration required.
4. 1-3 years of relevant technical experience required.

Additional Details

• Schedule: Monday (8 am - 6 pm at Kew Gardens), with other Nassau locations for the remainder of the week.
