Tufts Medicine’s Melrose/Wakefield Hospital Center for Sleep Medicine seeks a Per Diem Polysomnography Technologist. The role performs in-center and home sleep testing, calibrates equipment, applies sensors, and ensures quality data while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

The technologist collaborates with physicians, adheres to sleep center protocols, conducts education for patients, and maintains infection control and equipment standards across overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Understanding of sleep/wake physiology and related testing procedures.
• Ability to apply electrodes/sensors per published standards.
• Ability to interpret and respond to data during sleep studies.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient information to determine testing needs.
• Set final testing parameters in conjunction with physician and center protocols.
• Verify orders and consent; educate patient for in-center or home sleep testing.
• Apply equipment and calibrate for proper signal acquisition; ensure data quality.
• Conduct data acquisition, monitor study traces, and correct artifacts.
• Provide patient education and safety interventions during testing.
• Maintain infection control and equipment safety standards.
