Job summary

Qualifications

• Possesses a post baccalaureate degree in physical therapy (DPT) approved by CAPTE.
• Licensed to practice as a physical therapist by the California Physical Therapy Board.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Maintains current CPR certification.
• Possesses and maintains valid auto insurance and a valid CA driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services to patients per physician's plan of care and state regulations.
• Assessing and evaluating therapeutic status and contributing to the total plan of care.
• Evaluate muscle strength, mobility, gait, ROM, and rehab potential.
• Directs physical therapy treatment and teaches patients and families to use therapeutic appliances.
• Initiates and adjusts physical therapy programs and educates staff and caregivers.
• Trains patients in prosthetic device use and coordinates referrals for home health services.
• Prepares clinical progress summaries and submits goals-based reports.
• Provides physical therapy consultation to home families when indicated and offers in-service education.
