Job summary

Mass General Brigham's North Shore Medical Center is seeking a per diem phlebotomist to collect and process blood specimens for laboratory testing. The role requires early morning availability and weekend shifts, with onsite work at 81 Highland Avenue.

You will ensure patient identification, accurate labeling, and safe handling of specimens while maintaining HIPAA compliance and delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
• Class D Driver's License - preferred for HR use

Responsibilities

• Obtains quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, labeling, processing, handling, and transportation of specimens.
• Assists in patient recovery from adverse reactions and rapid response to medical emergencies in inpatient settings.
• Communicates procedures to patients and care teams to ensure high patient satisfaction.
• Handles sharps and biohazardous materials per regulatory requirements for safety.
• Works with computer programs and systems and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.
