Job summary

University of California, Riverside is seeking a per diem Clinical Laboratory Phlebotomist to support the Student Health Services lab on the Main Campus. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen processing, and preparing samples for in-house testing or send-outs to a reference lab.

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Laboratory Supervisor, you will verify orders, ensure proper patient identification, and assist with CLIA-waved testing and quality assurance

Qualifications

• Experience performing phlebotomy and specimen collection for lab tests.
• Ability to verify orders and patient identification accurately.
• Familiarity with specimen handling and draw order procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and collects blood, urine, and other specimens.
• Prepares specimens for in-house testing or reference laboratory send-outs.
• Verifies test requisitions and patient identification in electronic or paper form.
• Assists CLS in setting up CLIA-waived tests and participates in QA activities.
