Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Central Suffolk Territory (Stony Brook, Smithtown, Islandia, Sayville, Holbrook, Islip and Deer Park). You will perform blood collections, prepare specimens, and handle data entry across multiple sites in a casual/per diem role with variable hours.

Responsibilities include providing excellent patient service, processing specimens, and traveling to additional sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
