Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Washington state pharmacy technician certification required.
• 1 year pharmacy technician experience or completion of Fred Hutch pharmacy apprentice program preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner.
• Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.
• Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems accurately and efficiently.
• Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label medication in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Compound sterile intravenous admixtures including hazardous, non-hazardous, and Investigational Drug Service medications.
• Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, apprentices, and interns.
• Triage incoming phone calls and electronic messages relating to medications.
• Interact with professional and technical staff in a courteous manner.
• Cleaning and restocking sterile compounding areas.
• Other pharmacy related duties in accordance with regulations under Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission.
• Other duties as assigned.
