Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Per Diem Equipment Technician for the perioperative team.

You will collaborate with the surgical staff to ensure all equipment is available and prepped for procedures, maintain inventory, and support day-to-day OR operations. The role requires 1–2 years of equipment maintenance experience, ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with patient transfers, and basic computer skills including Epic access.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience: 1-2 years in equipment maintenance or related field.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push stretcher with patient up to 250 lbs.
• Able to read, understand, and write English.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure equipment is available and ready for procedures.
• Develops and maintains an inventory of equipment with par levels and locations.
• Checks OR schedule to ensure equipment availability.
• Coordinates with Nurse in Charge/Throughput Manager/Operations Manager and Biomed as needed.
• Uses Epic for preference card review and equipment positioning requirements.
• Maintains tracking logs for broken equipment and coordinates repairs.
