Job summary

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions is seeking a Peer Recovery Services Specialist to support clients in recovery from substance use disorders. Services may be delivered in the community, at the client’s home, or at a treatment facility, with emphasis on lived experience and mentoring.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Ohio PRS certification, valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess OMHAS or other designated Ohio Peer Recovery Support certification and be in good standing.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and valid car insurance.
• Must pass BCI check, corporate compliance checks and employment drug screen.
• Must be 25 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Proactively support individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.
• Services can be provided in the community, client's home, or treatment facility office.
• PRS expresses understanding, support and respect for the paths of recovery; in-person or by phone.
• PRS must be able to drive and occasionally transport clients.
• Maintain confidentiality of communication in line with mandated reporting rules.
• Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator.
• Facilitate peer-led support groups as a facilitator.
• Develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships through shared recovery experiences.
• Maintain electronic health records, billing sheets and attendance records.
• Assist clients to identify personal goals, strengths and recovery plan.
