Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU RNs for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shifts include 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with the freedom to pick up as little as one shift per month.

You will provide high-quality patient care in acute-care settings, monitor cardiac rhythms, administer meds, and collaborate with the care team. Competitive per diem pay and daily/weekly pay options are offered, with easy mobile scheduling and local support.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current AHA BLS
• Current AHA ACLS
• QuantiFERON-TB test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments
