Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Patient Services Representative Associate to be the first point of contact for patients, handling check-ins, insurance verification, and scheduling with compassion and efficiency.

The role offers minimum 1 shift per week, per diem availability, and a pay range of $16.00 to $29.00 per hour. A $1500 sign-on bonus is available to external applicants, with training on site and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.
• Ability to work on a per diem basis.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients in person, directing them to appointments and procedures.
• Collects and verifies demographic, insurance, and benefits information and obtains signatures.
• Checks in and interviews patients to complete required paperwork including financial assistance forms.
• Obtains and explains cost information, collects co-pays and deductibles, and counsels on financial assistance.
• Resolves claim issues or registration errors and documents resolutions in the EMR.
• Registers accounts and manages work queues using established tools and procedures.
• Provides customer service for inbound/outbound calls and resolves inquiries.
• Assists in scheduling add-on appointments and may mentor staff or gather medical records.
• Performs other duties as needed to support patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
