Job summary

Saint Peter's Health Care System is seeking a Patient Flow Coordinator Per Diem in Clinical Operations. The role will identify and prioritize admissions, assign patients to appropriate units, and communicate bed assignments to receiving areas.

You will continually assess flow and notify the right people of delays or issues in movement. The position requires three years of experience with accuracy and attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication, and excellent customer service

Qualifications

Three years? experience in a position requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

Identify and prioritize patient admissions through hospital records and various departments.
Assign patients to floor, bed type, and status per admission criteria or physician orders.
Notify receiving units of admission details and bed assignments.
Monitor patient flow and alert appropriate staff to delays or flow issues.
Keep directors, nurse managers, and directors informed of clinical and operational issues such as discharges and admissions.
Coordinate with Care Coordination on scheduled ambulance transfers and discharges.
