Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at 1 Associate Dr, Oneonta, NY.
• Ability to work at least 2 shifts per pay period – Mon–Fri 7 AM–7 PM and weekend 8 AM–4:30 PM.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interviews patients to ensure a smooth initial experience.
• Collects patient demographics and health information for registration and insurance verification.
• Uses computer systems to enter or verify patient data in real time.
• Processes referrals, pre-certifications, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations as required.
• Verifies insurance coverage and creates price estimates as needed.
• Collects patient co-pays and discusses out-of-pocket obligations.
• Identifies outstanding balances and pursues collection when appropriate.
• Coordinates with provider offices to schedule services prior to discharge.
• Responds to patient inquiries with compassion and professionalism.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across departments.
