Job summary

Guthrie is seeking a Patient Access Representative to welcome patients, ensure accurate registration, and connect them with needed care across Cortland and Binghamton offices. Per diem shift coverage supports outpatient and ED flow, with emphasis on precise data entry and strong customer service.

The role requires a high school diploma, healthcare exposure, and solid communication skills to navigate busy environments and patient inquiries effectively.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• At least 1 year in a role with direct in-person customer contact.

Responsibilities

• Creates patient encounters in the EHR for ED, radiology and outpatient patients.
• Performs daily auditing of registration processes.
• Manages incoming and outgoing calls, Vocera and Nurse call system.
• Collects co-pays and provides financial guidance including estimate letters.
• Performs Health Information Management after-hours duties.
• Participates in ED staff meetings and ED governance.
