Job summary

Guthrie is seeking a Registration Clerk to greet patients and guide them through the registration process in the ED, delivering compassionate, accurate customer service.

The Registration Clerk/Clerk II fulfills patient access functions, creates encounters in the EHR, collects co-pays, and supports ED staff with daily registration tasks. Requires a high school diploma and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a role with frequent in-person customer contact preferred.
• Strong organization and communication skills are essential.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create patient encounters in the EHR for ED, radiology, and outpatient settings.
• Participate in daily auditing of registration processes.
• Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, Vocera calls, and the Nurse call system.
• Collect co-pays and provide guidance on paying balances; prepare estimate letters for services.
• Perform Health Information Management after-hours support and participate in ED governance.
