Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT is seeking a per diem Pathologists’ Assistant to join our team. You will be responsible for gross descriptions, dissection of surgical specimens, and preparing tissue for processing under the supervision of an attending pathologist. Flexible hours on Day Shift, Monday - Friday, coverage as needed.

Responsibilities include grossing, supervising histology prep, and potential post-mortem work. EPIC training is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NAACLS program for Pathologists’ Assistant.
• Minimum of one year’s experience as a Pathologists’ Assistant.
• ASCP certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant (PA).

Responsibilities

• Perform gross descriptions and dissection of surgical specimens.
• Prepare tissue for processing and assist with histology prep under supervision.
• May perform post-mortem examinations and teach activities as assigned.
