Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina, seeks an OR RN PRN to join the surgical team. This PRN role offers self-scheduling four weeks in advance, opportunity to influence patient care, and involvement in operating room workflow to support safe, efficient outcomes.

You will evaluate patients pre- and post‑operative, educate families, and ensure readiness for procedures with a strong emphasis on teamwork, safety protocols, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within evidence-based practice.
• Be part of an interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes throughout shift.
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions and follow-up.
