Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital seeks an OR RN PRN to join our operating room team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families about procedures, and manage patient preparation including IV therapy and preoperative medications.

You will participate in surgical site verification, recognize emergencies, and provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a dynamic interdisciplinary team, aligning with hospital policies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Must be an RN with an active license
• Associate degree in nursing required
• BLS within 90 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification according to hospital policy
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
