Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices
• Be an integral member of the interdisciplinary team
• Apply the nursing process with critical thinking and leadership
• Assess patient condition and document changes accurately
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up
