Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is seeking an RN PRN to join our operating room team. You will evaluate patients pre-surgery, educate families, and assist with perioperative care in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Expect involvement in a multidisciplinary team, adherence to surgical protocols, and timely documentation of patient status. On-call may be required during select hours; travel is not involved.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) licensure is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Associates degree in nursing or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education regarding the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies and deliver safe nursing care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, and techs.
• Document changes in patient condition and care provided during shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up.
