Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a per diem role at the Issaquah Clinic in Issaquah, WA. The RN provides patient-centric care, performs nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation with shifts Monday–Friday, 10 hours each day.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, education on chemotherapy and home care, triage by phone/email, and coordination with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current Washington State Registered Nurse Multistate License (MSL) or current MSL from another state and ability to update to WA within 60 days of hire.
• BLS certification (card) renewed every two years.
• Additional certification may be required depending on department.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical judgment; strong time management and communication skills.
• Ability to listen actively and convey information clearly to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs; evaluate patient adaptation.
• Develop a plan of care based on disease, symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Refer patients and caregivers to clinical resources as needed.
• Deliver direct patient care including education on chemotherapy, lines, injections, and home care.
• Support indirect patient care such as referrals, coordination with outside providers, and care continuity.
