Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for the Issaquah Clinic to deliver patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include nursing assessment, care planning, and implementation; educating patients and families; coordinating with social work, nutrition, and other specialists; and safely administering IV hydration, chemotherapy, and blood products, while integrating research into practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN license or multistate license with WA residency updated within 60 days.
• BLS Provider certification renewed every two years.
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card within 3 months of hire.
• Oncology experience preferred; training provided if no prior oncology background.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and plans care.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes and treatment.
• Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Administers IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, chemotherapy/biotherapy, and blood products with safe handling.
• Integrates research and evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice.
• Communicates or elevates patient symptoms to providers as needed.
