Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to join an interdisciplinary care team in the Seattle area, with a focus on patient-centered nursing care across assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

The role emphasizes educating patients and families, coordinating care with the team, and supporting chemotherapy administration and symptom management. BLS and WA RN license are required; oncology training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN license (MSL) or eligible to obtain WA MSL within 60 days.
• Active BLS certification; renewal every two years.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred; training provided.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care across assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Support patients with chemotherapy administration, injections and symptom triage.
• Assist with new patient orientation, discharge planning and caregiver support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect patient privacy; participate in quality improvement.
