Job summary

UCI Health in Orange and Irvine seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by taking and recording vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a safe, clean unit environment. You will stock supplies, operate hospital equipment as directed, and assist with clerical tasks.

Required: basic medical terminology, ability to read/write English, CNA/LVN certification or active nursing program enrollment with at least 1 clinical semester, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (by the AHA).
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
